Padelstars St Albans is the chain’s Hertfordshire flagship at Batchwood Golf and Sports Centre — four courts that grew from two outdoor pads into three covered courts plus one open court, with a small clubhouse for drinks after play. Regulars call it a happy place: approachable staff, social mix-ins for all ages and abilities, and a deliberate push (led by assistant manager Fiona) to grow female participation. Centre manager Lucas and the coaching team run tech sessions, open matches, box leagues and junior/adult courses. Free parking, beer and pizza options in the office/clubhouse, and prices that locals say undercut some nearby venues make it an easy weekly habit rather than a special-occasion trip. Standard and Premium memberships via the Padelstars app. Standard: 20% off peak and off-peak, 10-day booking window, 4 live / 2 daily caps, cancel until 24h, 20% coaching discount, 3 free member events yearly, 10% F&B and apparel. Premium: free off-peak courts, 20% off peak, 14-day window, 6 live / 3 daily caps, same coaching and event perks. Non-members book 7 days ahead at full price with 48h cancellation. Really lovely and approachable staff, great facilities (incl. free parking!!!) and great atmosphere for all the family. Fantastic events and training opportunities as well. The little office even has beer and pizza options as well as coffee and other drinks. And it is not as expensive as other clubs locally.
I have to say that Padelstars St Albans is one of my happy places. I’ve been going from the very beginning when there were only 2 outside courts and have loved watching it grow into the club it is today with 3 covered courts and an open one. Plus a nice little clubhouse for drinks after sessions. The staff are really friendly and helpful and actively encourage all ages, genders and abilities with a variety of Social Mixins.
I have played padel at three different venues in the area, PadelStars is the best. The facilities are great, the coaches are very friendly and their communication is excellent. I prefer the PadelStars app to other ones out there and there are a lot of activities to take part in. There is also a real emphasis, thanks to Fiona, of increasing female participation and overall the venue makes a real effort to provide good customer satisfaction. Well done!
Padelstars St Albans is an incredibly friendly club. The staff are always bright and cheery, eager to help and are excellent coaches. The facilities are great with 3 of the 4 courts covered to protect them from the elements. The other club members are also extremely pleasant and social, always willing to offer advice and help if needed to new players. Court availability is generally very good and the costs are very reasonable. A nice little clubhouse completes the set-up with racket hire and both soft and alcoholic drinks available.
Great, friendly club offering a wide variety of activities, tech sessions and opportunities for open matches. The clubhouse has a good selection of delicacies and some great merchandise!
